Strong Bella Taylor growth attributed to independent retailer support. Brand awareness, mix of price points, heavy launch cycle also factors.


Kirbyville, Mo. – More than 100,000 Bella Taylor handbags, wallets, purses and travel bags have been shipped to independent retailers in 2011, according to VHC, Inc.  The number was exceeded on September 12th, and does not include sales to mass retailers.  This represents a significant increase over the prior year, due to the timing of achieving this milestone number very early in the traditionally heavier fall/holiday selling season, according to the company.

“Our first acknowledgement has to go to the many independent retailers who have supported us to reach this number of shipped units,” stated VHC, Inc. CEO and Co-Owner Ken Kline.  “So first,” he continued, “let me say Thank You, and second, get ready – we’re just getting started.”  According to the company, this number was exceeded in 2010, but only by the end of the year, and it included some mass retail.

Bella Taylor includes printed and patchwork quilted handbags, wallets, purses, and a variety of travel pieces.  Designs range from on-trend and youthful to traditional and homespun.  Bella Taylor is marketed via the company website, and thru wholesale catalogs and corporate account managers.  The collection is also available via VHC’s Drop Ship program, but only thru independent retailers or their websites.  Some items are available through wholesale distributors including CWI, WaresItAt, CDM and Countryside Finds.  Very high quality in a price-point driven framework and broad seasonal/yearly launches are Bella Taylor hallmarks.

Textile design and import house Victorian Heart Company, Inc. (VHC, Inc.) has launched Bella Taylor by VHC, Inc., a complete quilted and patchwork handbag collection for independent retailers.

The Bella Taylor brand, featuring more than 25 color themes and over 400 individual handbags, will be formerly launched at the company’s exclusive handbag showroom during the Atlanta show in January, and via an exclusive catalog.

Price points for the handbags range from $9.99 to $99.99 retail, with heavy emphasis on purses and everyday-use sizes in the $39 to $49 category.

“The Bella Taylor brand name, catalog, and showroom expansion are directly related to the overwhelmingly positive response we have received to our handbag collections”, said Ken Kline, CEO.
